The brief

I created this body of work during my time at i4U.  Currawong Lakes wanted to update their website to reflect the uniqueness and gentlemanly charm of the Tasmanian Park. Their previous site lacked a natural, outdoor feel.  I wanted the new site to include a strong focus on detail and textures associated with nature and gentlemen’s sports. Currawong Lakes Trout Fishery and Game park has been frequented by many high profile clients and their website needed to reflect the exclusivity and the associated pricing structure.

I used the textures of leather and wood combined with a green felt sourced from a snooker/pool table to give a sense of masculinity. The use of serif fonts like Trajan Pro and Times New Roman supported the ‘gentlemanly’ theme. The choice of imagery was highly important. The detail of old rifles, fly fishing rods and pheasant feathers added another dimension that strengthened the branding. The client was extremely pleased with the result and subsequently asked me to design new letterheads to compliment the website’s branding.
