The brief

This body of work was produced whilst employed by i4U. Jo came to i4U seeking an online presence for her business “Haircuts in your Home.” She loved the use of bright colours on a black background and her mandate was to look affordable. We discussed theming, the message she wanted portray via her branding and whether these elements matched her pricing.

After number of discussions, Jo decided to rebrand her business changing its name to something that reflected quality, attention to detail, personal service and elegance. Her new name, “Your Personal Hairstylist” incorporated high fashion themes from the popular program ‘Sex and the City.’ I used the impact of bright pink against a black background and incorporated sparkling diamonds into the logo. The end result oozed femininity, elegance and fashion.

The logo was created in Illustrator.  I drew each diamond before importing it into Photoshop paying special attention to the subtle colour variations in the text and glow effects.  Jo was very happy with the various elements and details I combined to achieve the final result.   Once the website was completed, she then asked me to design her business cards and flyers. 

Extras

I incorporated the use of a rococo pattern to give depth and add an additional, flexible element to the branding. Each element designed included the branding colours, rococo pattern, logo and key imagery to make a strong brand that exuded high fashion and style.
